As with any timber, it is a natural product and its natural defects define its character. The flooring must be checked carefully at the fitting stage, as once fitted it will be too late. Anticipate at least a 5% minimum wastage factor, which may cause the piece to be unsuitable for its intended purpose.
A timber floor, although harder wearing than a carpet, is not an inert element. Heat, Moisture and Humidity around it will have an effect on the floor. The more intense the influencing factor. the greater the effect will be.
